Nothing Tastes as Good as Thin Feels

Getting Started. This is my Journey.

In high school, I was the popular athletic girl who thought she was "chubby" without an ounce of fat on her (unless you count the D's). In college, I gained the dreaded and highly unanticipated "Freshman Fifteen," plus ten, in the first semester. Yes, you did the math. That's 25 whopping pounds in approximately fifteen weeks. I worked that off pretty quickly, but life was changing, and so was I. Soon, my world as I knew it was upside down, and depression had a firm grip on me. With depression, I gained; as I gained, I grew more depressed. It was a viscous cycle I'm sure many can relate to.

In July 2008 I began the Weight Watchers program. I went to meetings, I asked questions, and I tracked my points just like a good little Weight Watcher. But each week, I gained...A total of 10 pounds in six months. I quit Weight Watchers, fatter and more pissed off than ever.

Finally, I discovered that I have a shotty Thyroid (hypothyroid) that was causing me to gain weight at an alarming rate. Finally. It wasn't all my fault.

After getting on the appropriate medication and getting my Thyroid levels stabilized, I began to lose some of the weight. I jumped back on the Weight Watchers horse in October 2009.

For years, I didn't recognize the person staring back in the mirror. Finally, I am getting back to the girl I used to be.

I used to blog on Myspace. There I had one of the most popular blogs on the site, among millions. Because I am familiar with blogging, and I love to tell stories, I decided to blog my weight loss journey here. I hope this will be a fun place where we can share our stories.
Here you are encouraged to comment, ask questions, share, and have a good time. I will also share recipes and websites as we go along. I hope you enjoy my journey.
